I'm travelling through Norway-Sweden-Finland with my husband in June 2006. We're getting eurail passes, but are having trouble planning the route from Boden, Sweden to Rovaniemi, Finland. I see that we need to get a bus/coach, but have searched the web and can't find a bus service that goes up there. Does anyone have this info?

I'm afraid you'll have to take a bus. Take a train from Boden to Luleå (trains from Stockholm and Narvik continue to Luleå, please make sure you're in the right part of the train). In Luleå, there are several bus connections a day to Haparanda, on the Swedish side of the Swedish-Finnish border. Some buses continue to Tornio, on the other side of the border. If your bus connection doesn't continue to Tornio, never mind; it's only an 800 meter walk from the bus station in Haparanda to the one in Tornio. From Tornio, take a bus to Kemi. In Kemi you can change on a train to Rovaniemi. I haven't found any direct buses from Luleå to Kemi, but maybe there is one.

For Luleå-Haparanda (-Tornio) visit (choose line 11 for a PDF file; sorry, it's in Swedish but you'll understand most of it)

For Tornio-Kemi, visit
