Hi Everybody,
A little while ago I herd about an alarm that stays in your bag and is activated when the bag gets too far away from something in your pocket that emits a radio signal (if your bag is snatched the alarm goes off because it is no longer receiving the signal). After I heard about this I went and found it on the internet but I am looking to buy one now and can't find it again. Does anyone know where to get one? I think this would be helpful to any traveller.

Never mind, I found the one. It is called TrackIT Anti theft alarm. However, I haven't found anywhere to buy it as of yet. It may just be a USA thing and I live in Australia. Has anyone bough one before? Know if they are any good?

Good in theory, but I would have thought the issue would be getting your bag back, not realising it was gone.

I'd rather spend my money on a few extra days away than buying one of those. its not gonna be cheap, and where has it gone if it has been nicked, which direction?? I just think that looking after your things and being SENSIBLE is the best way to avoid theft. Travelling in pairs like with a mate and watching each others backs is one way of reducing theft greatly. Never put your bag above your head on busses/trains as the amount of times i know people have passports etc. stolen is stupid. When storing luggage in a coach, try and get a ticket for the luggage and sit on the side it is being stored.
