Hi... Vedran and Diana here...
We are also visiting Costa Rica from Dec. 20th to Jan. 12th.
Our plan is to jump from one place to another all over Costa Rica and are currently planing our New Year's Eve.

Tamarindo sounds like a good chice but every room is already booked!?

Do any of you know a deacent place still available?

I just hope it's like two years ago in Thailand on Ko Phi Phi Don. Everything was booked on line but as soon as we took first step on the island bunch of locals were fighting for us to take their accomodation.

See you all there!!!

Ah, Costa Rica! It's been a few years, but my sis and I spent Xmas there. We stayed at a hotel outside Talamasca, southeast coast. A couple guests and workers (they had a work/room&board deal) went into town about 7km away, and partyed Christmas day in on the beach. There were little shin-digs all up and down the beach at the numerous bars.

BUT if you're going to Puntarenas, and your looking to party, I would suggest taking the ferry across the Bay and going to Montezuma (aka Gringolandia). THAT place is touristy, but definately had partys in to the wee hours.

My best friend and I are flying into San Jose on New Years but probably will flee towards the coast to ring in the New Year. We heard Tamarindo's an awesome place to party. Can anyone help us out here? We're from California and wanna go to a sweet party spot where we can meet some down to earth peeps.

I'm arriving in San Jose on Xmas' eve and 4 days later will be heading north, maybe Tamarindo..... Since I made a reservation on a car, I might stop in Jaco and other places.
Travelling solo and willing to party like my Brazilian blood

Tamarindo is having a terrible beach pollution problem. It is localized and the beaches of neighboring villages are fine and tested daily. All Costa Rica Beaches are pollution free except this one at this time. The problem may be corrected by Christmas and New Years. We hope so.
