Hello! I'm from New York City born and bred and I never been to Canada
before and I was thinking about maybe going for New Years Eve. I would
be traveling alone and I'm looking to have a good time. I'm 31 yrs old, single.
What would be the ideal place for me to visit, Toronto or Montreal. I'll appreciate
any information.

Definitely Montreal!! I don't remember exactly where I read it, but it's been voted one of the top 10 places in the world to celebrate NYE.

In either Montreal or Toronto, you are best to book a party ahead of time. You can get tickets on-line for a number of events. Check out the Eye magazine for Toronto events closer to New Years Eve ( I can't remember the free paper in Montreal, but they list events as well.

Last year I went to Louis XIII in Montreal on Cresent street (I think Cresent - right around there anyway). It was okay, but the crowd was a little young (I'm 35).

Montreal is def. the place to be on New year's Eve. one word of caution though, try to plan ahead of time. Montreal is a very popular destination so hotels either sell out fast or inflate their rates. as well make sure you choose the right spots to hit as a lot of them can be packed or not be within your age group.
the place Louis XIII mentioned above went out of business last year, according to my Buddy who lives there.

Just have to find a plane ticket now
