hey. My parents want to travel out to the carribbean at the end of next june for their anniversary. Even though this is the beginning of hurricane season, what is the likliness of a hurricane at the time? Anyone know any past records? Or which would be the island to visit. Hope someone can help:)

Hi,

I'm not a weather forecaster, and it's while since I was there, but they might want to think about Barbados if they're worried about extreme conditions. We lived there for a couple of years and because it's really removed from the chain of islands (if you look at the map it's kind of isolated and easterly), most of the hurricanes miss it - the worst we ever had was heavy rain as the tail end of a hurricane ripping roofs off other islands, and that rarely lasted for longer than an afternoon.

It is probably the one of the most tourist-infested of the islands, which might be a deterent, but if they escape to the east [Atlantic] coast, it's stunning and mostly tourist free (this is where the locals holiday!). In fact, the way you can switch from five star holiday-brochure comfort on the West coast to untouched Malibu culture on the east is one of the fantastic things about it.

the season is june to late nov
but this year we started early and we ended late.

july / emily
and so on...

As for chances to have hurricanes in june are slim, the islands, any, all are super!!
