Due to the airline moving my flight back a day, I've now got to spend 36 hours in LA. I really don't know what to do and does anyone have any advice on how I can kill the time.

Any advice would be gratefully received!

Perhaps checking out Hollywood Blvd and the 'Walk of Fame'. Take a tour of the stars homes by bus. Type in 'Hollywood attractions' in Google and see what grabs you. Plenty to keep you occupied for one day.

I suggest the following for a quick 1 1/2 day trip in LA (some sites depend on the weather).

Venice Beach--it's not too far from the airport and it's fun and interesting--especially on the weekend.

Santa Monica--ditto the info on Venice Beach above--slightly upscale compared to Venice Beach--they have an interesting 3rd street shopping area and a wharf to visit also.

Getty Museum--best museum in western US--possibly in US as a whole--located near Westwood (UCLA area)

Huntington Library (in San Marino)--actually the library is the least interesting thing. The house, art collections, and especially the seven different parks are the highlight here. Great place to go when the weather is good.

Amusement parks--Universal Studios, Disneyland, and Knott's Berry Farm

Beaches when it's summer--my favorites are Santa Monica, Venice Beach, Huntington Beach, Newport Beach, and Seal Beach. Zuma and Malibu are great if you have the time to travel that far (they are 1 1/2 to 2 hours north from LA)

Olvera Street and Chinatown--interesting Mexican and Chinese sections downtown==this is where LA started.

Beverly Hills--visit the stars' homes in Beverly Hills, Brentwood, and Bel-Air. Drive by the Playboy Mansion just east of UCLA in Holmby Hills. See Steven Spielberg's home just off of Wilshire Blvd. west of the golf course.

Take a weekend trip to either Las Vegas, San Diego, or Mexico (Rosarita Beach/Ensenada/Tijuana).
