I am going to be in Koh Phangan Dec 30-Jan 3rd and am having a hard time finding a hotel near by to Haad Rin. We are 3 travellers and looking for a decent accomidations, with hopefully air conditioning as well. Any Help if Much appreciated...

Also, I will be going from Bangkok to Krabi Dec 23 and it seems all flights are book to do so...Is it east to just book a train or Bus down to Krabi the day before? Or is all travel book in the country during the holiday season? Finally what is the best route to take from Krabi to get to Koh Samui?

Thanks for any help!!

Your best bet is to take the overnight bus from BKK. Save a nights accom. and get there in the AM. You have a choice of tourist bus from KSR area or gov't bus. I have done both and would vote for the a/c gov't bus leaving the Southern Bus Station. Less theft, stops for dinner, better bus(usually). This is a difficult time of year to travel, but I would get over to the Southern station and see what is available. If fully booked, try the travel agents on KSR. Once in Krabi, check the Krabi bus st. for bus to Surrat Thani. Or talk to the travel agents im Krabi for bus/van to Surrat. Good Luck

These arent really hotels I know of just mainly bungalows but maybe it will help you!In Koh Pha Ngan we stayed in one disaster place which was called the Paradise Fields in Ban Tai....under no circumstance stay there, it was just a chain of shady events the night we spent there!!!we then moved to the Seabreeze bungalows which were in between Leela Beach and Hat Rin, really quiet, bit of a walk but amazing views!!!!A couple of friends stayed in Bottle Beach and they loved it there, very quiet! When you go to the Krabi Province you must go to East Railay, it was my favourite place, so pretty, the amazing Laem Phra Nang beach, good fun at nighttimes, met some really cool people!have fun!
