I recently found a great opportunity to do an internship in Bonn, Germany. The internship would be from the beginning of May to the end of August. I am trying to find an apartment for this time. In addition..does anyone know how hard it would be to teach english in Germany on the side. I know that the laws in Germany are pretty strict. I have a TEFL certification for business professionals and young children. Does anyone know how and where I could find work? Thanks for all of the help!!!!

did u try looking up teaching for Berlitz? They hire Germans/Austrians to teach German in America so I would imagine they do the same in Germany

hey! I am also travelling to Germany, with the intentions of working there. I think the situation for U.S citizens is pretty much the same as for Australian.

I know that to work in Germany you need either a Working Holiday visa, or have an offer for work from a company in Germany so you can get residency status. Would you be going on a students visa however, with your internship? or is there some sort of sponsorship?

As for finding work, I was also looking into the TEFL certification (and it looked like a lot of money!) .... and am curious as to how you will go with that. I can't provide you any feed back however on how to find work, except for what i have been told when i am asking the same questions as you. That is;
websites such as
Berlitz website (like jeffG mentioned) (which helps out english speakers in germany look for work)

I go to frankfurt in Late march, early april, so i can let you know how i go. Although, my field is I.T so, a little different from your situation.
