Tamiflu is as anti viral drug which is used to fight the virus of bird flu. Does the drug has any side effect and can it be taken in advance as a precautionary measure ?

Here is the link to the FDA website and the information concerning Tamiflu and it's side effects. The most common reaction to the anti-virals for any influenza is feeling of having the flu - achiness, headache, etc. Taking ibuprofen or even plain aspirin for these symptoms is usually enough to cause them to subside.

The flu vaccinations are taken as a precautionary measure anyway. You will need to talk with you doctor or travel clinic about it's availability. Some areas are only vaccinating the elderly and children as the supply is low. Other areas have enough vaccine to innoculate all those wanting it.

Are you planning to travel to a particular country or area where you feel you may be exposed??

Here is the link for the CDC and their information concerning Avian Influeza:

if your worried don't go near chickens. wash your hands regularly don't touch your face ware a mask stay away from people and have enough food to keep you going for a year or untill it's all over . good luck with the hybrnation. ps the virus will keep on mutating but the good news is it wont be 100% deadly as even a virus has to have a host.
