I'm trying to plan a trip to Thailand for a few weeks in Jan or Feb but it seems that even though I have the cash to support my travels..I CAN'T BOOK ANYTHING WITHOUT A CREDIT CARD!!!..Which unfortunately I can't get at this moment because I'm not living in my home country...I'm living in China and I found a flight from Chengdu to Bangkok at 600USD from yahoo travel..(is this any good by the way)..

Anywho, my question is-- how to get around booking everything on a credit card and is there anyway I can still put together a trip without one that isn't overpriced and time consuming???

If you have any suggestions it would be much appreciated..

Thanks in advance..

Is your cash that you have for this trip rolled up under your mattress? Or is it in the bank, cause if it is in the bank, you should be able to use your debit card as a "credit card."

If that doesnt work, then perhaps putting your cash into a prepaid credit card may be a way around that.

Or give yourself the gift of a visa gift card.

Hope one of those work out!

My sister used her Bank of Montreal Mastercard for the four years she was living in New Zealand. Can't you get a credit card through your home bank no matter where you are in the world? I really don't know - but there must be a way. Perhaps check with your bank and see what they can offer you as an option. They WANT people to carry credit cards, so I'm sure they'll find you a solution...

Hmmmm.....I will definetely look into all of those options..It pays to have a credit card I guess, especially if you are inclined to travel..It would be nice if I could get my bank to send one out to me, or just use my debit card.....Thanks very much for your help..
