Hey guys. My friends and i are planing a road trip around Lake Ontario. We arent making any solid plans and we are driving one of our cars. i was just wondering if anyone knew if we would dbe able to make it around the lake in 3 days or if that would be pushing it. and what information do we need to cross the boarder from canada to USA.

Oh and does anyone know of any nice little places that we could possibly stop at on our way around, that would be cool too.

Thanks in advance for any help

From a time perspective, you can drive around the lake in 3 days, though most of your time will be spent actually driving during the day.

As for crossing the border, assuming you are all Canadian citizens, if you don't have passports, you will need a photo ID and proof of citizenship (birth certificate and drivers license). Here's entry and exit info: Your Canadian passport is the best document to prove your Canadian citizenship and your right to return to Canada. However, Canadians are only required to be in possession of proof of citizenship (such as birth certificate) and a valid official photo identification (such as driver's licence). The most important formality on entering the United States is providing proof of your Canadian citizenship.

If all your group isn't Canadian, they may have additional visa requirements, and should check with the US embassy on entry requirements.

As for things to see, Niagara Falls and the Thousand Islands would be nice. Kingston has Fort Henry. Toronto has the CN Tower. There is the big apple restaurant along the 401. I haven't done much on the US side, so can't help you there.

Three days is probably pushing it. Five would be better.

As for the Canadian side, definately hit Kingston and the Thousand Islands area.

On the US side, there really isn't all that much. The only town I would recommend is Sackett's Harbour, about 20 miles south of the border crossing near Kingston. The rest of the US side is rather dull I'm afraid, and Rochester is a dump.

Staying in Dundas huh? it is a beautiful little town,, but you can see it all in a matter of a couple hours! Why not head to Kingston for a couple of days? Much more to see and do there than in Dundas/London!:)
