Hey - off to the baltics at the weekend, and it's going to be mighty cold (i.e. -5 downwards constantly I think from looking at the forecast). I have proper bulky ski gear that I can take to stay warm, but I don't really want to wander round Tallinn looking like michelin man all the time - does anybody have any suggestions for some last minute togs I could buy that are light, warm and not too 'spensive??

A good pair of long underwear and a fisherman's sweater go a long way without bulking you up too much.

That and lots of thin layers which you can take off when inside are a good plan.

Yes,agreed, the underwear is the solution. And I remind you Polartec is also warm, thin, and very light. And minus five is not that cold....Good socks may be usefull also,if you are used to havecold feet...
Good trip!
