Oh My God just watched Dispatches on TV which showed an undercover investigation on Ryanair!!!Who else saw it????It was horrendous....Ive used Ryanair quite a lot and couldnt believe what I was seeing.....they were claiming that the staff werent properly trained and it showed you this farce of an exam where the leader was allowing them to ultimatley cheat!!!Half of the staff hadnt had police checks, they didnt have proper security passes and hidden cameras showed that they were in violation of health and safety as they werent even checking to see if the seats were all equipt with life jackets etc....and they left a pile of vomit and conceeled the smell by whacking a bit of aftershave on the floor as they have a 25 minute turnover so they dont have time to do these things!!! Yeah so the flights are incredibly cheap but some of the things on this TV programme were just unreal!!!!!Did anyone else see this tonight?????Im soooooo glad Im flying Easyjet next week!!!!
Who saw the Ryanair Documentary?
sweeeet i may have finally found a suitable employer
It was really shocking. I guess there must be some reason for 2p flights. However, I didn't think it was very balanced- they should ahve done the same investigation for other airlines, maybe they're all like that???
Me and my friend were thinking of going on a long weekend to Ireland. She hates flying. I didn't want her to watch it cos now we've seen that there's no chance of her getting on any budget airline. She refuses to travel by plane, I refuse to go on a ferry (I get sooo seasick). Can't see it happening now!
for 2 bucks i wouldn't care if theres a bucket of feces in the seat next too me and the pilot is screwing the attendent/passenger/animals during the flight
Good documentry, a bit of an eye opener.
Mind you i doubt if they are the only ones in europe running in that state, let alone sth america, africa, asia ..........
If you think thats bad, try the maintence of some of the planes.
In the end it's still one of the safer forms of transport.
Cheap and Cheerful, the old saying you get what you pay for. Mind you they aren't that much cheaper most of the time.
All be aware of no thrills airlines, there is a reason why they are cheap and as more no thrills airlines open up, less air space is available leaving air traffic queing to get into an airport, air traffic around London is horrendous, just think how stressfull and dangerous it is for air traffick controllers.
Many more disasters are awaiting to happen due to human error
Are easyjet really going to be any better? They're almost as cheap...
Yeah, i quite like flying with easyjet, Ive used them quite a lot and a few of my mates work for them and Its reasurring that I saw them go through the whole recruitment and training process so at least theyre arent cutting corners with safety and quality training so thats cool!!! Ryan air on the other hand it turned out that if you want to work for them YOU have to personally pay like £1400 or something obscene around that mark for the priveledge of training and you have to fork out so much per month for a uniform!I would never pay for a job!!!I think basically if people are throwing money like that at them theyre are going to take it ultimatley taking on any tom, dick or harry!Saying that, I probably would still fly Ryan Air again but only beacuse Im a poor student!!!Its just the bit that worried me was that they knowingly allowed a plane to fly aware that the inflatable slide for use in case of emergency had a fault so if anything had happened people wouldnt be able to get out!!!Thats scary!!Actually though, I found the flight I took with Ryan Air a few weeks back ok, the plane seemed clean and yeah it was all basic but for £10 return including all my taxes and booking charges to get to Italy and Back, you cant complain!!!!
All the documentry was aimed at was the onboard staff, long hours, lax security .....
I remember when i was at uni, there were aero engineering guys that couldn't change a tyre on a car let along certify an aircraft fit for flight. Now thats scary , I did ask them to mark any aircraft that they worked on so i didn't have to get on it
All the cheap flight will come to an end in the near future, especialy with the high oil prices. These cost increases will increase the pressure for airlines to scrimp on maintenence.
More flights also put pressure on the traffic controllers - now thats a danger point.
But hey, we all gotta go sometime
My best mate used to work for them and she was always knackered although she said the security was pretty tight and if they couldn't answer a set of safety questions before flying, they couldn't go.
I didn't see it but thats just another take on things!
