So everyone had travelled abroad, and we all miss stuff from home.

But my question is, what do you miss most from overseas?

I'm Canadian, and I miss Turkish Apple Tea the most! I've yet to find anywhere that sells it (I live in Hamilton, Ontario, ...if anyone knows of anyplace that can help me out)

What does everyone else miss from their travels?

Pita mit gyros

Places, weather, activities, etc rather than tangible things.

But I do miss the kebabs with chips in them!

When I was back in the UK, I just missed that feeling of being abroad, of being away from home.

So now I've made my home in Sweden.......

I get the feeling there should be some sense of deliciously ironic paradox about doing so......... but I can't quite put my finger on it yet

I miss being in new, different, places. The same thing every day is depressing.

Mostly, I really miss meeting new people. I travelled alone, and people ask "didn't you get lonely?" But I actually get lonely more here. While its nice to see my friends again, its like "where's everyone else?"

And there are no nice, tanned, good-looking men round here!!

Oh - great post!

Let's see...

  • V power drink from New Zealand
  • pastries from France (I can't even pick one in particluar - they were all great!)
  • coffee from France
  • OK - food of any kind from France (I'm still dreaming of that 75 centime chocolate pudding I picked up at a Tesco - oh my, but it was delicious)
  • Psychologies magazine from the UK (I can't find it here for the life of me)
  • those lovely little Innocent smoothies that cost a fortune
  • reasonable-priced wine and beer from everywhere else - it costs a fortune at home!

Quoting Q-Tip

The little bars in Lisbon.

I read that too fast and thought you wrote "little girls in Lisbon"...

I miss Chang beer and the little medicine bottles of Red Bull, and I miss breakfasts of fresh pineapple from a street stall. I also miss the yakitori restaurants of Japan, such delicious food, and all on sticks!

I miss living in a beach hut and having a swim before breakfast in the morning, and I miss the smell of suntan lotion. Not much call for that here as there's been the deepest snow I've ever seen in Glasgow in the last few days! People snowboarding in the park and all!!

As I have my rucksack, I'm at home.

But even though its only a small one, i can never find anything in it, without emptying it completely and searching through the debris.

(I know thats not the answer you were loking for, but as my bag is my home, it works for me)
