I'm going to Cambodia and Laos as part of my journey and have been recommended the Japanese E vaccination. To me it seems really unlkely that I'll catch it as I won't be spending much time in rural areas but I was wondering if anyone else had been there and had a view on it, cheers
Japanese E shots
I would get it. Go to Boots as it's cheaper to get it there than anywhere else.
I'm wondering about getting it too and think I'll do it because I'm going to be spending about 9months in SE Asia.
What do you mean by get it at boots? Do they administer the vaccination there?
What's the Japanese E shot?
Im sure it means- Japanese B Encephalitis

Get your doc to write you a prescription and then go buy it at Boots with said prescription. Doc should also administer it for ya (but arrange this beforehand - you don't want to be stuck with avaccine and no-one to inject it for ya!) Price of prescription and administering jab depends on yer GP.
If you are travelling around Cambodia and Laos, you will be visiting rural areas, get it.
I was advised to get the Japanese Encephalitis vaccination, because i will spending several months travelling in asia and in india.
Ive got my first dose and im due 2 more shots. Id recommend getting it organised well before you go, my GP organised it all for me but it took a couple of weeks to order it and then get the vaccination delivered etc.
