Hi. My sister and I are travelling to Italy together for a month in June and I am trying to find out 'reasonably priced' accommodation in Rome for 4 days, whether it be a B&B or a hotel. I think we would ideally want to be somewhere which is close to the transport lines so we can get around?

any guidance you can provide would be really appreciated! :)

You should try the villa bassi...I think the website is If that does not get you to the site...try googling villa bassi, should take you to the english website of the hotel. Let me know if you need anything else!

Something that you will see in your search here is to try and the travellerspoint system here. They are both good points to start off with in terms of finding out accomdations.

On the other hand, if you are looking for an area in terms of your requirements (close to transport lines), try the termini station on the eastern side of rome. There are many reasonable hotels, b&b and hostels in that area. Well, many throughout Rome but that is a good starting point and of course you can branch out from there, however, I doubt you'd have problems getting around despite where you stay in Rome.

It's more of a matter of how fast you want to get from one place to another.

Have you considered renting an apartment? It's more cost-effective and you can cook your own meals; if you're staying for 4 nights it should work out well. Actually, though, if you are talking about June 2006, you need to get going on your accommodations FAST! Things are really getting sparse in the main Italian areas for hotels and rentals and everything else-- seriously, I wouldn't waste any time.
