Depends where you come from - if you are used to South Asian climate, you might think it is cold while we all celebrate the warm weather.

You will be fine if you bring 2 Jeans, a pair of shorts, 1-3 T-shirts, 1-2 sweatshirts, a (thin) water proof jacket, sturdy trecking shoes and sandals. It can be warm and sunny as well as cool and rainy.

You could check out some outdoor stores on the internet (or in Europe) and consider buying an Outdoor jacket from North Face, Jack Wolfskin, Vaude, Lowe Alpin, Salewa, Mammut, etc. Ebay can be a good source. You best take a jacket with an zip-out inline jacket (softshell) for maximum flexibility. (But you don't really need it if you got a decent jacket already. If what you have can withstand a monsoon, it will be more than enough.)

Well here in Ireland 23C is HOT! so if you are in Northern France you'll probably get similar weather. I was in Holland in early July. It was 30C most days but the temp really dropped at night. Was in Berlin at the end of May and it was roasting! It was like high 20s low 30s. It stayed warm at night. Lyon is fairly warm too, no cool breeze because it's inland. I hope that helps you....

Yeah,May is just fine, don't worry,it's pretty warm all the time, except at night as was mentioned,so all i would advise is to take a kind of light sweat shirt for the evenning.(and take an umbrella,u never know...)

Roasting at high 20's low 30's!!!!!!! shit dont come to Australia then, thats our average temp during Summer and depending where you live hotter!!! high 30's low 40's i find hot, but stupid me stays out in the sun to long and gets badly fried :-(

Although European Summer isnt as warm, its a different climate so it is very hard to compare especially if you come from the Asia/Oceania region of the world...

I would take different layers of clothes with me, to dress against wind and rain. (depending on location and higth (Switzerland) it might be cold). I you dress carefully, you can always take off something, so wear different thin layers, to be able to switch to one kind of weather to another.

Kind regards,

Loes

May is a strange month, it can really cold one week and as hot as summer the next.

I'd recommend dressing in layers.

in Austria, April is considered to be the "strange month". May's really not cold anymore; even though it's not summer.

An umbrella is a good idea...
