A question for all you worldly traveller types ...

... when you use Internet cafes, do they allow you to plug in USB devices such as cameras and portable memory sticks?

How else do people store pictures whilst away?

I've moved this over to the Travel Photography Forum. I think you will get quite a bit of helpful information there. ;)

When I was in Greece I found an internet cafe where I was able to use the cable and put the picture on the harddisk and uploaded them to my website. Just ask it on a internet cafe.

Very easy thing is go with you memory card to a photo shop and ask to put the picture on a cd-rom. In Finland I'd paid 7 euro's per cd-rom and in France it was 8 euro's. In Greece there was in Athens during the Olympic Games a Kodak Picture Centre where the people could help you put the pictures on a cd-rom. It all depends how much pictures you have made and how many cd-roms you make.

When I was in Japan, a couple of hotels I stayed in provided PCs with USB ports and CD writer. I uploaded photos from my camera and burned a CD.

Otherwise you can go to a photo shop that has a terminal where you can plug your USB cable or memory stick, copy your photos, and have them copy them to CD(s).
