i need to book a flight from LAX (los angeles) to new york for may, does anyone know if it is possible to book it through an american airlines website, and put an american address down even if its not the billing address for your credit card ...or what is the best way to get a cheap flight...

when we were there we couldn't book online because we didn't have a US billing address. We just called the booking line and did it over the phone. We were already over there though, so it wasn't an international call.

If you still have problems you could always book it on ?Expedia?. you'll have to pay a little extra for the same flight.

Hope that helps!

You'll save money if there's any way you can fly out from one of the Greater LA area's smaller airports - that's where the more budget-minded airlines operate.

JetBlue, for example, flies non-stop to NY out of Burbank, Long Beach or Ontario. But the savings are pretty significant. Just as an example comparison:

American Airlines from LAX to JFK, non-stop, leaving 12 May at 11.35am, arriving 7.55pm: 178.40GBP

Jet Blue from Burbank to JFK, non-stop, leaving 12 May at 12.25pm, arriving 8.50pm: 91.44GBP.

Southwest Airlines offers cheaper LA area to NY (Internet) fares as well, but they sell really fast, and you also have to fly out of a smaller airport.

As for their booking policies, I haven't any info to offer you there - but I imagine a phone call or email could get your questioned answered fairly quickly.

Anyway, there's a couple of suggestions. Hope they're helpful! :)

Try Southwest Airlines. They go LAX-LGA. You can book it online and fly ticketless. Good Luck.
