We will be staying in Sydney for a couple of days in June. Can anyone please tell me what we shouldn't miss while there? Also include places where you would suggest we stay at.
when in sydney, walk around the city and take the fery from circular quay to manly. remember to take swimming stuff. Leisu aorund Manly for the second half of the day and travel back on the ferry when it gets dark. You'll see sydney by nite then.
cheers mate
Thanks Scattman, I was hoping for a better response from some of the experienced travellers. It's not as if no-one has been to Sidney before, is it? C'mon people help me out here!!

Wow, that's gratitude for you.
You can also stay home, that might be an idea.
Well james, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your curt reply, would it hurt sending me some info since you r from Oz? Or haven't you been to Sydney either?
(Mostly copy/pasting from a previous thread.)
I was really partial to the Chinese Garden of Friendship in Darling Harbour. Not as nice an asian garden perhaps as the japanese tea garden in San Francisco, but still a very very nice one, which I happily wandered through for a few hours.
You have to take a ferry somewhere. Doesn't really matter where, just as long as you take one. (Manly is the obvious choice, but since I'm not a beach person, it didn't do much for me - the Taronga Zoo stop is highly recommended, if just for the nice view of the sydney skyline from there.)
Also, have lunch/dinner one day somewhere on Glebe Point Road, or better yet, visit the saturday (? I think - might be sunday instead) market. (And in fact, I'd recommend simply staying in a hostel in Glebe. Glebe Point YHA for example is rather excellent.)

I was going to send you a heap of information, but I thought that I would be wasting my time as you might want a better response from some more experienced travellers. Enjoy your trip.
Find a hostel in Kings Cross if you fancy being entertained in the early hours of the morning.
I got asked kindly to escort my dutch mate out of one certain establishment after 1 or 2 too many beers.
Shame our Canadian mate didnt leave with us as he ended up buying several $24 cocktails.
If your not into that you could always go on a day trip to the Blue Mountains which was well worth it.
Walk over the Sydney Harbour Bridge,Visit the Sydney Opera House,Manly Beach,Bondi Beach.
here you go...
Thank you for the input from everyone.(You too James, loved the sarcasm!)
