Just wondering how much stuff everyone who has done a working holiday in Oz brought with them from their home country? My fiance and I will be arriving to Australia in May. I'm worried about bringing too much with me, 'cause if it's anything like my last trip there, I went home with much more than I arrived with Anyway, any input would be greatly appreciated. Cheers.

It doesnt seem to matter how much stuff you bring you will always buy more and there is never enough room!! Obviously it depends what job you are planning to do (ie needing office clothes ect). I find that I take what I want and if the worst comes to the worst post stuff home sea mail - takes forever but always worth the laugh when you get home.

dont bring things you can buy

you can buy those extra t shirts, shoes, sunglasses and its usually cheaper if you have a good exchange rate.

you can basically buy cold and flu tablets, sunscreen, etc and theyre not that expensive.

most supermarkets are open 24 hours or open at least until 10pm.

Take as little as possible, you'll soon find yourself decked out like an aussie after a month...

Hey ahleeseeah

I brought the bear minimum with me with the plan of just buying whatever I found I'd need. You can never prepare for every eventuality so my priority was having as light a bag as possible. It seems to have worked out for me so far so maybe this is the best idea?!?

Hope that helps

I know it's hard, but try not to take too much. Maybe 3 pairs of clothes.
If there's anything you need, you can easily buy it.
