I agree, send them out.......

I would, but don't have an address... (Yeah, a subtle reminder...)

Isa now returns this thread to it's regularly scheduled topic and lets someone else threadjack it...

I'm a shopper, not a souvenier-getter!

I collect shotglasses, and even have friends get me shotglasses (on their own accord, I don't ask!) from different parts of the world when they go off on trips. I am getting quite a collection! :)

I usually just send postcards off to friends for budget reasons and space issues.

yeah. i am a horrible giver of gifts so i tend to stay away from souveniers and such. i dont collect anything but pictures and i like it that way. you just enjoy your trip and if something great comes up then you can purchase it otherwise your just frantically searching at the airport for that right gifts for all your family and friends. just say no. NO gifts/souveniers.

YAY i feel so much better now...i have a digital camera and it has had the same memory stick for about 2 years of constant has about 80 photos 90% of which are of people partying

Oh my goodness!! I have so many pictures of people partying from my cruise ship days, but I know eventually I will look back and say "who is that?!?!?" Of course I will remember that at one point, they were part of a very fun and fond matter how blurry it may be :)

My shotglass collection is now in a box. I have about 50 different ones from around the world, but sadly they collect a lot of dust :( Maybe when I settle down and have my own home, they will find their place on a shelf somewhere to show off in all their glory :)

As a very true backpacker,it is a survival question to me not to take anything more in my pack...buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut...
Even if I "could",I would take nothing,I mean nothing material.Because I don't go anywhere looking for material things.I go to feel the blood in my vains, the life in my heart. And I am full of memories, more than if I were one thousand years old.Don't focus on the souvenirs, love fully every moment, this is the greatest treasure you can offer to yourself, and the only one than will never get lost or broken...

Btw I really like this...

To ask another, related question,: To photograph or not to photograph? Some people say it removes you from the expereience.
