Hello all...How are ye all doing?!!!! I'm just enquiring about the fmp's as I will be in Thailand in September 3rd for 3 wks and have been reading up on the fmp and there will be one happening on the 7th of September and I was just wondering are they actually worth going to, and is it only one island they happen on and is that koh phangan?

We havent really put a schedule together for the 3wks,as we are at the moment just enquiring about all the different possibilities! Aswell we want to divide our time between phuket, koh samui and krabi so if anybody has advice on any of these it would all be greatly appreciated!!!!!!!!

Hi Sulli

Have sent you a quick email...My brother did the full moon party on the beach in Kohpanghan & said it was wicked. He was also told there's a half moon party held up in the mountains too which is supposed to be equally as bangin but he didnt make that....

Whether you like it or not is dependent on whether you hang out in libraries all day long? A partys a party at the end of the day.....

well you can def rule out the whole library situation!!!! Yeah it definitely looks like it'd be class alrite and might aswell and go all the way and get the accomodation (not for sleeping mind!!!!!!)

I think there are parties all over the place, but Hat Rin on Koh Phagnan is definetly the biggest and best. It's really a good time. Though really Hat Rin is a party all the time, and when I was there, I found the night of the FMP wasn't any better than every other night of the month. Though there are more people out and about and the beach is packed. If your up for a party, then go. I wouldn't care to do t again, but I had a great time. Watch it with the drugs though, I've heard lots of stories of busts and stuff, so if the idea of sitting in a Bangkok prison doesn't appeal to you, then I would stick to the Chaing Beer. Also, make sure you are there at least a few days before to book a room.
It gets pretty packed around the full moon.

Also, since you only have three weeks, I wouldn't try to do all those beaches that you mentioned. I would say ditch Puket. I've never heard anything good about it, and if the Full Moon Party thing is your scene, then I can't image you enjoying it. But since Samui in on the way to Koh Phagnan, visit there. And I would recomend Krabi and Koh Phi Phi because they are beautiful.

hello there

i was in and around Thailand (also a little bit of Laos adn Cambodia) form sept '04 - march '05 and did 5 out of the 6 full moon parties.
i thought they were cool, because i absolutley adore drum and bass and found it at The Orchid Bar.

i reckon just 1 is worth checking out if its just for the experience. i understand tho, that Had rin (where the parties are held) is constantly busy and theres always a party.

i worked in Hadd yao (west on koh phangan) for a few months and was aware that there are half moon, no moon and jungle parties, also a waterfall party. any excuse 4 a party really. From the tourists that went i heard that the jungle party was the best 1 out of them all.

Do be prepared when attending the full moon parties that the majority of people are tanked up on beer and sunshine. like at any party, always be careful and look out for yourself and the rest of your people your with.

most islands have thier own sort of parties. i know Phi Phi defiantley hosts a full moon party and koh Chang a simlilar sort.

hope 2 c ya in the next 6months as i fly in 3 wks to bangkok
