It gives you the option of either London or Belfast but never has any availability on the Belfast one.
It may be that they've stopped applicants from mainland UK booking Belfast appointments (they obv know where you live). Staffing issues, perhaps? Maybe too many people/too many needing waivers applying via Belfast because it was/is a bit faster? You also used to be able to track Belfast applications but that option seems to have been removed.
Hi, so just wanted to give an update. I received an email on 3rd May to send off my passport for visa issuance. I sent this off via DX courier service on 7th May and just picked up my passport today. I have been issued with a 5 year visa. I am really happy as I was only issued a 1 year visa in 2019. The 8 months wait has finally come now with a positive ending. Wishing everyone luck.
Thank you for the update. Timing info is especially useful for others. Looks like the embassy's estimate of visa + waiver taking 8 - 9 months is pretty accurate.
I've come across several people whose first visa + waiver was for a year and whose second visa + waiver was for 5 years. I'd guess that's the normal progression if everything's ok.
Enjoy your future US trip! :-)

Yes I guess so. Thank you.
Hi all, got my interview a week on Friday and wondered if it’s worth getting the company I worked for since I got in trouble 25 years ago to right me a reference? It was ABH when I was 17 and then 19 years old. What are people’s thoughts? Thanks, Craig.
It’s always worth taking anything that might support your case. Although they didn’t even ask to see anything other than my ACRO and DS forms. They weren’t very interested in anything other than those

I’m still waiting for mine to be returned, I also sent mine in the 7th I emailed for an update today and they basically said they will need to keep it for the entirety of the issuance and they can’t give me a timeline. I can request it be sent back but this will hugely delay the process so I’ve no idea when I will get it back! I have family holidays booked (non US) and I don’t have a passport now! I find it really wrong that they can take my British passport and hold it without any timeline or way of checking when I get it back!
Thanks, seems like they make their minds up as soon as they know what the charge(s) were etc.
