>When filling out the vcu01 form, for the signature and date is everyone doing this with pen or date and signing digitally then printing off?

Ooberj is right. Wet-signature and date required. The official instructions are pretty clear:

>Print the form and date and sign it. (myunderline)

First you print, then you sign & date.

Just to give an update.

Had my appointment today.

Appointment time was 7.30, arrived at 6.45 and already 30 people queued up.

Security opened up at 7.25 and started letting us through.

I was sent to the 2nd floor and waited there.

At 8.20 got called into 1 booth, took my details, finger prints, asked why I want to visit etc

Then told me to wait for a US consular to call me in for a meeting.

At 9.15 got called to the booth and spoke with the consular. He asked about my conviction, why I want to visit the US etc

Took my finger print.

He said due to my crime being a CIMT I won't be approved a visa however he would be recommending for a visa waiver of ineligibility.

Was told to await for email and it will be several months.

Well, I am still waiting, appt was 26 June, I have had 3x5yr visas previously, I have never know these current timescales, it is crazy. Have booked for Las Vegas for 13th march so hopefully it will arrive in time. That will be 8 and a half months. Fingers crossed.

Our tracker sheet is showing a 12 month rolling average now of 249 days from interview to email (not counting adjudication delays). However, the 2 most recent pieces of data we have are 290 and 328 days respectively (the latter my own wait). So currently between 10 and 11 months!

At P2 they asked for step down letter, and I again offered the SAR which he refused and thanked me for being prepared.

I'm confused now...

Is the step down letter usually part of the police certificate then? None of the three previous police certificates I have had, had any details of convictions etc with them.

It sounds like the guy at P2 was incorrect in refusing your SAR, as that's exactly what I sent in in place of a stepped down report, and its now all been processed and visa issued.

The "step down letter " is news to me I'd not seen it before and was surprised that it came with my ACRO. This had the four charges from 1996 ( that's the only conviction) but as I've needed a SAR in the past I just asked for one when I ordered the ACRO.

One bloke didn't bring his step down, as he put it, the letter says this is not intended for 3rd party use. He hadn't done a vcu-01 and was sent off to fill one in, which he struggled with as he didn't know all dates etc.

Where as he didn't want my VCU-01 SARb or pics. Just said yeah ill recommend you for a waiver.

I have my SAR and ACRO. No idea what a step down letter is - my appointment is in 2 weeks
Can you explain what it is and how do I get it or would by SAR, ACRO, VCU01 suffice?

Yes you will be fine with those. My step down etter came with the acro detailing what had been stepped down from my record.. I saw many who had the SAR when I visited.

Where is the tracker sheet located so I can follow and hopefully eventually share when I get a response?

The tracker sheet is just a spreadsheet of people's waiting times compiled by a member of another forum. It is not related to TP and is not in any way official.

You can see the link in the last post on page 381 of this thread.

Hello, just a quick one,

we both now have our visas myself a 5 year one and my partner has just collected his with 10yrs on.

my question is what happens when my passport runs out?

When they request my old one back do they put a new visa in my new one ( don’t the cut the corners of the old passport?)

have only just thought about this.

You retain your old passport. It is only the cover page of your passport that is snipped when you renew.
