I'm travelling to Thailand in June and was wondering if anyone knew if the internet cafes there are ok with you using USB cables to upload your photos. I want to upload them as I go, in case anything happens to the camera itself or my memory cards. - god forbid!! Any feedback would be appreciated.:)

If you want to upload them to a website, it could take a really long while. But if you ask, its probably ok to use a usb cable and do this.

However, you can burn them to cd easily, its quicker, and then you've always got them. I made 2 copies and posted one home. Most internet places will usually do it for you, and shouldn't cost more than about 100 baht. Maybe when you've done this you can upload them to a website a few at a time, or when you find a really fast or cheap place.

As Clarabell said, burn a couple of copies off and keep one, and post one home. High speed internet access is only found in the big cities really, even then you're going to be sharing the connection with loads of other people (unless you go at some obscure hour). It's just not worth trying, it'll take too long. You'll find loads of CD burning stores pretty much anywhere. ;)
