Hey There,
does anyone know what visa on arrivel (for vietnam) is and how it works?
and what is the best way to get a visa for Cambodia? is it possible to get one in Hanoi?
Does anyone know how many days a year I can stay in Thailand? (I mean can I just leave after 30 days for a week and than come back and get a new tourist visa?)
Many Thanks Ute

I'm not sure how the visa on arrival works in Vietnam, think it's quite new, I arranged mine in advance in Bangkok.

You can easily get a visa on arrival in Cambodia, probably cheaper then getting it in advance & you're more likely to get scammed if you get it in advance. It should cost US$20.

Generally, when arriving in Thailand, you get a free 30 day tourist visa, it's not recommended to overstay your visa. Many people hop over to Malaysia to do a visa run when their visa is running out, when you re-enter Thailand, you'll get a new 30 day visa.

I know, you can make visa on arrival in Viet nam.You have to contact before 3-4days you arrive.
You can also make your visa to Cambodia in Hanoi(Cambodia Embassy in Hanoi). And after 30days, you can come back Thailand with new tourist

1. Vietnam visa on arrival;
Many travel agents in Hanoi & HCMC will provide a service that allows you to fly into VN and pay for your VN visa($25 for 30 days) at Immigration. They usually charge about $25 for this service. Type in 'vietnam visa on arrival' to google or another search engine.

2. You can get your Cambodian visa when you get to the entry point. The airport and Moc Bai-Bavet entry point(HCMC to PP) charge $20 for 30 days. The Thailand entry point;(Hat Lek-Cham Yeam) charge 1,100-1,300 baht. This is about $30. The same is true for the Poipet entry point from Aranyaprathet Thailand. Immigration officials pocket the extra $10.
If you fly in or take the bus from HCMC to Phnom Penh, just buy your visa on arrival. If you plan on arriving from Thailand, I would buy the visa in advance.

3. Yes, you can leave after 30 days and come back in for an additional 30 days. You can do this for about a year before the Thai border officials may question if you are living in Thailand and not planning on going home. A useful link that covers this extensively is '' PM me if you have questions on VN, Cambodia or Thailand.
