We are travelling for 15 days in Italy in September. I have found two car rental agencies that are way cheaper than the big boys. One is "Car Italy and Tours" and the other is "Maggiore Italy". Does anyone have any history with either agency and are they reputable? We are looking for a 9 passenger van and the big boys are 2400 to 2600 where they are 1300 and 1800. Thanks for any help

I don't know either of them. However, there are some reputable agencies that charge MUCH lower prices than the international ones; the setback often is, that they are only regionally active, which means that you have to drop off your vehicle where you collected it. But if you fly in, that is usually no problem.

I had a quick look on two italian consumer websites for you, and Maggiore doesn't figure on either of them. I may be too optimistic, but that appears a good sign to me.

I was also looking recently for a car rental company in Italy because it is a good option in order to see more interesting places in your own rhythm. While I was searching for car rental companies I found You can look for a company in any city of Italy and they provide you contact information for rent a car companies (address, phone number, fax, email, website if there is one). You could send an email to the company you think it suits you or enter their website, see the prices and make the booking.:)

Check out as well. They have good rates that include insurances and delivery to the airport or a city hotel. I was satisfied with them.
