Go to their website. www.flyingkiwi.com
Hi thanx for your help ive been on the website already i was just wonderin if anyone had been on it?
thanx again for your help anyway!!!
I haven't been on it. I've seen their vans drive past various times in New Zealand, and people seemed to be generally enjoying themselves, but that's very thin ground to go on.
For a while, when this question came up, I would answer that I'd heard nothing but good about Flying Kiwi. However, then it became apparant that all those good messages had been posted by one and the same person, who almost certainly worked for Flying Kiwi (but pretended to be a happy customer). That gave a really bad impression of the company, although of course it isn't certain that this person indeed worked for them. (I just hate how astroturfing like that completely ruins trust.)
So... I don't know. I definitely like the idea of what they're doing, camping and other activities wise. If I wanted to go and do those things, I'd probably do them on my own, but I suspect that if you travelled with them, you'd have a good time. (It's hard not to, in New Zealand.) I just very much can't recommend the company itself.
Something vaguely similar (although purely hiking; not also biking) which I do have a very positive feeling about however, and which I think might be worth looking into for you as well is Hiking New Zealand. They do ten day trips with camping and hiking at various points pretty far off the beaten track.
That is a risk that you take when you read the web sites,or any kind of advertising, a certain amount of trust has to come into it, but if you don't trust anyone no point in searching the web. Maybe he was both, a happy customer first, then an employee, who knows, as the saying goes, "he had a barrow to push'.
It's not possible to please everyone, but I would say that if they have been operating for awhile then they can't be too bad.
Also most times, the tourism companies,if you are a visitor to the country, know where the best sights are and going with a group can be a good experience.
It all depends on your preferences and your trust.
Thanx for your help ill look into that new site you gave me!!
