I am planning for a trip to Shanghai this coming dec 06.. Can anyone tell me what are the place of interests that I can go in Shanghai? I guess it must be winter at that time.. so excited over it.. it will be my 1st time travelling alone and also to a foreign country during winter season.
Any good places of interest in Shanghai?
hi
it'd be quite cold in Shanghai during winter, so you better prepare enough clothes.
You wanna go sightseeing or shopping in Shanghai?
There's a lot of special places to go.
And the night life is wonderful too.
Also, if you plan to travel there, why not consider stopping by HangZhou? It's really a very beautiful place, absolutely worth going.
think about it.

H Eve,
Shanghai will be very cold durng December. Most of the times it would be too windy and so it would be a biting cold9experienced last Dec).Since you are a singaporean being used to tropical climate, you will find it totally different.Take enough woollen clothes.
Shanghai has lot to offer. Some of them are:
--walk and shop around Nanjing road..it's a no vehicle area.
--walk along the the bund and enjoy the spectacular lightngs.
go top of the tallest tower and view the below the fantastic lighted buildings.
-YU gardens,
-Jade budhha temple...etc etc..
Besides above there are lots of shooping malls.
If you have more time, visit near by tourist spots like Suzhou.. as you can cover all these on "same day return trips".
Have a nice trip.
Funny you should ask at this time since I'm in Shanghai right now. To be honest I didn't think I was going to care all that much for this city and it's been just great. The suggestions given above are all really good ones (although I'm not sure how much fun Suzhou, Hangzou, or the yunin gardens will be mid-winter). The food is great and there is a lot to wander about and see.
It's also a lot cheaper then you get lead to believe.
Hope this helps
oops.. and the Shanghai museum is supposed to be the best collection of Chinese art and artifacts in China.
Thank you so much ... I be going during the first week of december ..guess i have to prepare winter clothings then.. I prefer going sight seeing rather than shopping... I hope I wont freeze there.. hehe.. Do I take train or I need to take a flight to Hangzhou?

It's about two hours by bus or train to Hangzhou... I'll be there in the morning.
Gee thanks.. i thought the journey to Hangzhou will be very long.. guess since I can take train there it shouldnt be a problem for me to find my way ...
Do check out Pudong, the new business district and see the Tower. It's just a building, but very kitsch at that.
Eve,
When you go to Hang Zhou, the west lake is a must-see. It's a pretty big beautiful lake with a lot of historic stories. You can rent a bike for about 10 Yuan/hour. It's a great excercise at a beautiful place.
Have a fun trip!
