I hardly think France should be considered boring. They played an awesome game against Brazil and deserved to win it and in general play a very entertaining style of football. Really, Brazil has been quite uninspiring the during the competition and on their run of form wouldn't have deserved to be winners. I would love to see Portugal take it out too, even if they were the ones who knocked out Holland. I always prefer a team who has never won it before and there is some consolation in being knocked out by the team who won the cup. Ok, clutching at straws there maybe

I don't see how you can say that considering how they play.... It's just like the Italians, they'll take a dive if a blade of grass hits their shoe the wrong way! Hurt as it may (being Dutch), the Germans are the only team that have played anything remotely looking like football the entire World Cup. They've played more 'samba' like than Brazil even and they're the only team that deserve to win based on the last 5 games. France was surprisingly good the last two games, but I can't help but remember the first three attrocious games!
It's always tough to beat the Germans, even when they aren't playing good. Given how they are currently playing, a team would either have to play really, really, really well (not likely given the three other teams left) or have a lot of luck (okay, so that could be Italy or Portugal given their record) to beat them.

The same could be said for some of the Dutch players too. In fact, if Robben hadn't taken such obvious dives earlier in the match, we may well have been awarded the clear penalty later on. Kind of a case of the boy crying wolf too many times if you ask me. Harry Kewell is similar for Australia and Australia has missed out on penalties as a result.
I don't really hold the Portuguese team to blame for that atrocious game against Holland. The referee losing control was more to blame. As much as I hate to say it, Holland never really looked up to the challenge at this World Cup unfortunately. Following both them and Australia equally, I was actually far more impressed by the Australians' quality of play.
I unfortunately do have to agree though that Germany has been the most impressive of the remaining teams. France may have played poorly the first few games, but the nature of these competitions is that you need to peak at the later stages and they seem to be doing just that!
As much as i hate to stay this.. i hope the germans win the world cup! i hate the cheating portuguese and italian teams!!! and well france they havent been inspiring enough too deserve too win it. so i want germany too
I'll cheer for Italy tonight. Being European, I can't possibly support the German team - even though they might play better... (They are "the US of Europe" and we all have to pretend disliking everything German even though we don't really have a reason). Besides, Italy is likely to lose and I always support the losing team.

Due to the lack of TV in my flat and work/after work editing work I missed all the games bar one when I was at Nikki's.
I can't really get into it at all... Weird, it even doesn't bother me if Germany would win... What's wrong with me????
