My goodness that referee in the Aussie game yesterday was terrible!!! Is it just me or did he give three yellow cards to one player before giving them the red??? Not to mention two definite penalties for Australia that they didn't get. At least in the end they still made it, although Emerton should get his head checked for how he ran up against two incredibly dumb yellow cards with 5 minutes left in the game. Just goes to show how smart it is to sit players with a yellow card if you can 
I'll be cheering for Australia next game!

Graham Poll (the ref) did give the Croatian player 3 yellow cards, at that point we were screaming at the tv! When the ref booked him for the second time, Viduka actually said to him that it was his second, but Poll said no, he's only had one! the thing is that the assistant refs are there to stop that sort of thing happening. Poll is now being investigated by FIFA's referees committee to see what action should be taken.
The second handball was as blantant as the first and Viduka was definitely rugby tackled. At least Australia are through, despite bad ref-ing!

Well done Australia!!! I'm not bitter or anything, but I can't help feeling smug that my ex boyfriends team (Croatia) is OUT.
I'm such a typical girl. Plus I can't help but notice that the Australian team are not a bad looking bunch of blokes.
And being English we always love the underdogs to do well, especially if we can't.

That was honestly the worst refereeing I have ever seen in my life.
1. At least 2 more clear penalties for Australia, possibly 3.
2. A missed offside goal from Kewell (though I'm not complaining!)
3. A disallowed goal because supposedly the time had run out. Since when do people finish matches while you're in the penalty area? He could have stopped it before the free kick was taken.
4. 3 yellow cards = red ??
There were many more mistakes, but those really were the worst of the lot. It was an absolute disgrace and when you consider Australia has suffered some pretty bad refereeing already in the past two matches (including the super dodgy goal that Japan scored), it really was just too much. I'm just glad it ended the way it did!
Bring on Italy!!

I can see the other semi-final being Ecuador vs Ghana!!

Why is it that all you Ozzies - who havent seen a World Cup in most of your life-times - seem to think they know it all now???
You guys are through to the second round - big deal... guys give you 5 more years and you might get half a clue about this sport!

Having been in Oz for 7? months now, you should be convinced by now that Ozstralya is GOD'S OWN COUNTRY, and that Oz has the greatest immigrant sportsmen in the vorld.
