Let's bring this thread back to it's intended topic, shall we?! It's about soccer and not sniping at one another. Not every thread needs to have slagging as part of the discussion and it becomes tiresome to say the least.
So, GO GHANA!!!!!!!!!

Woz I snipping?
Surely it's Englands turn!! I would LUUUUURVE to see them in the final against Germany!
Although it will probably be Brazil or Argentina.
Bring on the quarter finals next Saturday. . . . .
rach8645 - here's a challenge...
Please explain the offside rule to me.... without looking up google.
Bless you dear
James
Dont speak too soon - the offside rule is basically when there is ball in play and the player needs to pass it forward but is being bloked by another player - easier explained as I was taught that if I want a beer and someone's in front of me but the bar tender needs (for some reason) to pass the beer and I grab it as the person in front is getting cash out of their wallet then I am 'offside'.

COME ON ENGLAND - im tired with all these am starts in Oz but so so so so so happy we're through and agree England v Germany would be good if the fans can stay alive long enough out there (!) Not sure whats happening ...in the game this morning the Germans the Polish the Irish and even one Dutch lad danced with us when we won - come on fans cheer up - we're not great okay but we're also undefeated so far... more love less hate
Sod Brazil (even tho yeah they'll no doubt be in the final) but even when we play shocking we win - once again it needs to be said COME ON ENGLAND.
[quote=cobbana]
England will, as always, snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
This is all I read mate Come on you know you guys are out tonight but heck love England a little more yeah we pay a heck of a lot of your taxes whilst dancing through your country so once again - more love less hate -
7 months in Oz but doenst stop me loving my home ey now!
Lighten up - once again - read my messages on what anoys me with Oz and you'll see its you so called 'sportsman-ship'... please England may be playing poor but we still stay and cheer to the very end and as you can see share other games too - no Ozzies to watch England but you count how many will be out in support tonight. Plus you didnt hear one 'boo' from the England fans did you! And we stay till the end when a lot of you guys have been leaving cause you think the Socceroos are going to loose!
Take a look in you're oh so wholesome mirror, contemplate and get back to me tomorrow with your humble pie
Oh and I will be one of them cheering the Socceroos so less of it!

I hung up my boots a few years back (All Saints Oatley West ), but my understanding is that a player is offside when:
- he is in the opposing team's half of the field
- is closer to the goal line of the opposing team than his closest two opponents and the ball
- and the ball is played by either himself or one of his team mates.
But being an Aussie, I wouldn't know. Plus, when I used to play more often than not I was hung over, with each burp tasting of a mixture between bourbon/beer/whatever and the anchovies from the pizza consumed a few hours earlier (Oatley Pizza Village ) so the rules I played by were a bit fuzzy.
GO THE AUSSIES!!!!!!!!!!

James it was 300 but that's hardly the point now is it... other countries fight its just for some reason English (so-called) fans get into the news James you should have seen the bar last night - i repeat there were Germans, Polish, Irish celebrating ... did you see ze Germans getting the bashing the English did by the press - erm nope
And smarty pants...its not you guys dont know FOOTBALL but you pretend like you've won games forever and you basically havent and then after anoying the hell out of me by bashing England when we've qualified in this World Cup for years - and continue to say I have no idea whats going on ... you know most Ozzies didnt even know what the World Cup is until now or that its more of a love for sport than a country bashing its irrotating. Most of us are quite normal and just want to see our team through plain and simple... its not rocket science and we dont all fight but we also dont boo other teams when they play which you guys seem to enjoy doing!
Phew - your told - now can we move on from Ozzie V England please... you guys seem to forget your two best players live in my country.. we share the same language and basically all English fans will probably back the Ozzie's corner with this game v Ireland so again - MORE LOVE LESS HATE
Is it me or am I continually repeating the same thing - IS ANYONE SODDING LISTENING
