I seem to be encountering problems when accessing the blog entry/update pages. The same has happeneded from many different internet cafe's

When I am writing a long blog entry, I seem to lose the session mid way through. The autosave feature stops working and any attempt to post the article fails. Thsi only happens after a long time,a short entry of about 20 mins works fine.

Further when I open a new browser the session just hangs, like the cookie is still there or something.

Can you take a look at the session/cookie functionality as it seems to be not working properly.

Anyone else experience this problem?

There seems to be a general (server?) problem with TP over the last few days... I too had great trouble loading pages and posting messages; time-outs all over the place. Tried from several different computers/networks, and at several times of the day, but without much improvement.

I just got kicked out TP, and it wouldn't reload when using the URL, although DNS worked fine... crazy, crazy stuff

We moved our database to a new server tonight. Load times were getting out of control. The move has made a massive difference, though we are still seeing some problems. In any case, it will be much better while we try and figure out some solutions.

Regarding the timeouts; this is meant to happen after 90 minutes of inactivity (no new pages reloaded). I would have thought the blog autosaving page would have extended this as well though, so that is indeed a problem there. It's one of those pages where it is not uncommon to be on one page for 90 minutes. I'll look into it.

Hi Peter

It sounds like you've hit the nail on the head with the 90 minute session time. It's been happening for some time now so I doubt it's to do with server problems and it seems to be consistent regardless of time of day. I can't recall it ocurring pre-upgrade of the site so perhaps a result of a change made there, but not 100% on that.

I use to work in IT looking after a large intranet site so I know your pain.
