Hi, i am looking into trips to south america with overland companies, the two i have found most helpfull when emailing for information is the overland club and oasisoverland. The trip i was thinking of taking departs on 3rd november from quito and ends in rio on 15th feb. Just wondering if anyone has heard of or travelled with any of these companies and could give me some info on what their like. Also i realise november can be cloudy for the andes but am i wasting my money doing this trip at this time or will you still have good visibility and weather in some places for the beaches and waterfills. Any info is so much appreciated.

I don't know about the overland companies but last year i did the same trip from quito to rio in the summertime, high season for £3000, inc flights inca trail, galapogas islands and 10day one-to-one spanish course. Previously i had no knowledge of spanish and all went well for 3months. So you should consider going it alone, as it would be tons cheaper!!

See the various threads re solo vs package deal travelling. My advice would be against using any companies, and just go on your own. Cheaper, more flexible, easier contacts with local population, etc.
