Hi All,

I'll be doing three weeks in Italy later this summer -- Rome, Florence, Venice, and Milan.

Through Travellerspoint, my friend and I have already booked our accommodations in Rome, Florence, and Milan, but I thought I might also check here to see if anyone has actually stayed in any of the hotels where we have reservations and might be able to tell me what the place was like . . .

In Rome, we'll be staying at a place called Pitagora B & B, on Via Milazzo.

In Florence, we're booked at Ridolfi Guest House, on Via Ridolfi.

And in Milan, we're booked at Hotel Durante, in Piazza Francesco Durante.

I mean, they all looked good on "paper" (cyber paper!), but you never know, right? If anyone knows of any of these places from personal experience and can provide me with some first-hand feedback, I'd really appreciate it.

P.S. Our budget was a maximum of $50 CDN each (there are only two of us) per night, and all of these places were comfortably within our budget (about $45 per person, actually). However, we'll be joined by one or two more people in Venice, and we're having a devil of a time finding accommodations there. Every place we've seen that charges $50 per person for a twin room with private bathroom typically charges between $30 and $45 for a 3- or 4-bed ensuite . . . but we can't find anything like that in Venice, within walking distance of the train station -- anyone have any suggestions?

In Venice we stayed at Ca'Maria, which was a little over 100 Euro a night for two - or 45 Euro per person for four, according to their Web site. We had an entire apartment that was newly renovated, which came with a fridge packed with breakfast, beer, and wine coolers. It was right near a Vaporetti stop and a 10-minte walk to the Rialto bridge. It was beautiful - worth every penny! YOu can also browse the rest of the Cross-Pollinate site to search for other accommodation.

Ohhh WOW, that place looks GORGEOUS! Unfortunately, it's a WEE bit out of our budget...!

Thanks for the tip on the site, though - will definitely have to check that out.
