Hi,
Looking for a little help with this Thailand-Borneo trip I have planned in September.
I've booked;
London - Bangkok, Arrive 7th Sept
Singapore - Sydney, Depart 26th Sept
so I have 19 days in all.
What I'm looking to do is spend 2/3 days in Bangkok, then possibly head down to 1 or more islands, with Ko Pha Ngan most likely at this stage. For this I see you can fly to Surat Thani, then Ferry over to Ko pha ngan. Is this the best/quickest way?
After 6/7 days on the islands, the plan is onto Borneo. Would it make sense do travel to Borneo via Kuala Lumpur? If so, what is the quickest way from say Ko Pha Ngan to KL? Train? Air Asia don’t seem to fly.
My main reason for wanting to goto Borneo is to see Orang Utans. I'm aware of Sepilok rehab centre but would an attempt at seeing Orang Utans in the wild be better I'm thinking. I will also probably be trying to include Mulu National Park and Turtle Island. To be honest, I'm open to all suggestions as to how to spend 5-7 days in Borneo once it inlcudes Orang Utans!
I'll then travel back to KL, and bus down to Singapore.
And and all help would be really, really appreciated.
Ta,
Andrew
