After a year and a half of working a labour intensive job, I finally have decided to go back to a place I've always loved. The Island. I'm in desperate need of a vacation that involves climbing, hiking, kayaking and a massage if possible.

Any information is welcomed and greatly appreciated. Hostals, Spas, camp grounds. Any adventure groups out there that have my interests in their programs too.

Hi Marcia,

I was in Vancouver 25 years ago but I was 17 and travelling with the High School band so unfortunately I cannot provide the help you need. However, there might be others on the sight who can help you or perhaps you can call the Vancouver Island Tourism Bureau.

I am also taking a vacation this summer. I am going to Alberta and am taking an active tour of The Rockies with True North Tours. Perhaps there is something similar in Vancouver.

Sorry I cannot be of much help but I wish you luck in finding the information you are looking for and hope you have a nice holiday.

Sorry I cannot help. I'm most familiar with eastern Canada (Newfoundland) and you're going west young lady. Enjoy!

Ahh the island.
whenever i go to the island in the summer its to the west coast (tofino, bamfield,
sombreo, jordan river all the way down to victoria) or the many smaller islands on the
central east coast (quadra, texada) and the islands of the straight of georgia (galiano,
mayne, saltspring).
take your pick, all are incredible and none will disapoint. some are sorted for
tourists, others have nothing at all, so its all up to you.
for myself, mountains are easy to access any time, but the island beaches always suck
me in during the hot summer months.
