hey guys
im travelling to switzerland in early december this year and just need some help etc! Ive seen this great looking hostel called the old lodge in Wengen- has anyone else stayed here? It looks very promising and i really would love to stay there! But im not sure if it will be that good for locations etc. I am arriving from Paris by train and dont know how easy it will be to get there. And also im not sure what the place has to "offer" and how long it will take to get to tourist attractions. Jungfraujoch is around there which looks like fun, but then interlaken is further and luzern i think is about 4 hours away by train!? Any ideas suggestions about how to get places by train or other low cost means, what attractions we can visit in the area, whats at wengen would be awesome!
Thanks guys!

Wengen, a great place! I don't know the Old Lodge, must have opened recently. In winter wengen is a great place to be, it is really calm, because wengen is traffic free. On the other hand, if you are into culture (concerts, museums etc.) I would not recommend Wengen. As you have to ride up with the little train it is quit difficult to go out in Interlaken for example, I don't know when the last train up runs. Otherwise, if you like skiing (hope there is enough snow in December) it is a very nice place.

If you want to be centrally located to visit other parts of Switzerland, I would not recommend Wengen. Interlaken, Bern, Lucerne or Zurich would be much better choices.

Hope this was any help to you

Yeah that helps alot! I thought that would be the case...the old lodge hostel just looked to cute and lovely too miss, but i think we will have to as we are not skiing and it would be a bit to complicated to get to interlaken and so forth! Nevermind, back to the drawing board once again!
