Hey Guys,

I am doing a volunteer stint in Ghana next year for my uni course and was wondering is anyone else had done something similar or even had just been there and had some advice or experiences they would like to share.

I will be in Accra for 4 months from july next year amd just want to know what to expect. Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi Jess

I am about to go to spend some time volunteering in Accra, so if you post this message in January i might have some answers for you!!
I can tell you what i have heard though, that Ghanains are a friendly bunch. Probably not much help. Good luck though!!

Hey Jessica,

I spent two months volunteering in Ghana about a year ago and have since gone back to work for the organization that I was volunteering with. I will be back in October and there probably until August.

What types of questions do you have? Do you have accomodations? Do you have a placement? If so what is it! I would love to hear more!

Hello! ive just got back from a 4 month trip to Ghana volunteering, with gapsports in accra...its an amazing country! the locals are absolutely ace as well...its sooo cheap too, unless you are wanting the odd cadburys chocolate bar, which can be really expensive...
You must check out all the markets, especially makola, tettehquoishi and theres another that sells loads of cheap clothes...I was in absolute heaven...
also going to la badi beach party on a wednesday night, and getting down with the rastas isnt to be missed! its right on the beach! if you wanna get out the hustle and bustle of accra, then you can go all over Ghana, but dont miss going to green turtle lodge, on the coast, its beautiful...
Youll have an amazing time...i loved every moment...
