Hy, I'm gonna go to Central America for half a year in December. I'm gonna travel to Costa Rica, Panama, Honduras and Guatemala and probably some other countries. Any advice about what to see and how to save money? Plan a budget trip. Thanks for any adivce.

Best Fly INTO Costa Rica, air fares to CR from abroad are usually lower. If possible well before departure purchase Lonely Planet Central America, Footprint Mexico & Central America and Moon's Nicaragua and /or Guatemala or the Rough Guide print guidebooks, they list lodging places galore plus travel directions, transportation, safety and other travel tips. Know SOMETHING before you go. You'll require also detail maps. If you don't speak any Spanish, best to enroll in a Spanish school, language academy with home stay and most meals for at least 2 weeks. Remember many of the small budget lodging places and Spanish schools are difficult to contact via Internet. High Seasons for traveling Central America: July & August, December-Mid-January and Semana Santa (easter Holy Week)late March into April, etc. Costa Rica is all eco tourism and is the expensive country in C.A.. The other Central American countries offer cultural and ethno tourism as well as eco tourism.
