just booked my ticket to oz stopping in kula lumper for 50 days. The plan was to see some of malayasia, thailand , cambodia and vietnam. The problem we are getting is from books you just get the torism view, we are looking for nature, cool people and unique experience without the over crowding bucket and spades effect.Hellppp!!!would you go to these places that we have planned and what would you make priorities. How is best to travel from country to country and is it best to prepare now or leave it to tales when you land there to find the best places?we are leaving oct 31st to dec 20th. any advice would be richy appreciated, cheers
malayasia,thailand,cambodia and vietnam in 50days,help
Malaysia - I would suggest Malacca, KL, Penang and islands in east coast. Sabah & Sarawak is a must!
Cambodia - PP & SR would enough for you to explore!
Note: 50 days may be not enough if you want to 'feel more...
Maybe you could try this approach:
From KL, take AirAsia flight to Siem Reap (see Angkor Wat,etc), take bus to PP and then cross over to HCMC via Moc Bai, bus all the way up to Hanoi ( stopping along the way using open ticket USD25), fly, using AirAsia to BKK, and then travel by bus all the way down, maybe stopping at Suratani (to visit Samui), or bus all the way to KL and fly off to OZ.
Can be done in 50 days, depending how long you intend to stay at each stopover and what you plan to see. Of course, this also means sorting out visa matters.

travel to the perhentians for some diving and great fun, then tong nai pan noi & bottle beach on koh pha ngan - beautiful place. I had really bad experience on samui on cheweng beach - nasty place full of beer bellied men on jetskis and mopeds. Then head to chiang mai via bangkok. Stay in "nice place 2" AND Do a three day trek. eLEPHANT RIDES & RAFTING INCLUDED. you stay in local houses in the jungle and eat incredible food.
from there i went to borneo which was by far the most amazing place i have been. Go to mabul for diving - you wont find better anywhere else. Or climb mount kinibalu (book in advance - it takes three days!). You can visit turtle island and also the orangutan sanctuary. Hard to get around as it is not visited by many travellers but a stunning place none the less.

hi
Go to vietnam from Cambodia
Some places in vietnam are worth to see: HCMC - mekong delta river
down to centre: Da Nang, Hoi An-ancient town, Hue-old citadel
Then to Hanoi capital, visit Sapa and halong bay.
have a good trip!
