Ok, I'll start by asking you not to snigger at the follwing questions.....I am a total photography novice so they may seem a tad stupid for all the people that generally know the slightest bit about their camera!!!

I am off travelling part of the globe in November and taking along with my my digital camera. I don't know a lot about it other than how to point and shoot and then print them off.

At home I can just about transfer my pics to my PC but using the UBS port (obviously!). When I go away do I need to take my USB cable with me?

Also, how the hell do you attach images to e-mails and things like travel blogs in order to make friends and family back at home thoroughly jealous?!?!

I have x2 memory sticks at the mo. One which holds only about 25 pics and the other about 130. Should I buy another stick to take with me? (I think I know the answer to this already actually!)

Are there plenty of places to transfer the pics from my camera to disk which I will then send home?

Sorry if this all seems obvious, but if you don't ask, you don't learn!!!

Thank you

Lucy :)

Are you planning on taking a laptop computer with you?

If you are not, then I would suggest taking something like a small portable harddrive, one especially designed for transferring images. Otherwise, I think you will find your cards simply are too small to hold all the images you will take. You will probably shoot at least 2 to 3 times the number of images that you normally take at home.

I would suggest take some more memorysticks/memorycards for your camera. Alternatively, in most civilised parts of the world (the ones with internetcafés), you can probably find such a café or a photoshop where they can burn your pictures on a cd for you. After that you can clean the memory you have to take new pics.

In most internetcafés, USB ports will be present, which gives you the opportunity to send pics home by email, or upload them into a travellog. For that you can of course use this site, but there are more out there. I use, very user friendly, pre-designed templates and all. Only, if you want to upload lots of pictures, there's a small fee. But the features are worth it: automatic e-mail notifier for all your friends when you post a new message, chatbox, etc.
check it out.

Anyway, good luck!
