Hey guys,

im heading off to backpack around europe for a month and thinking of taking a 55L pack.

How heavy do you think this will actually be?

Im thinking of using some cheap airlines and was wondering whether i will have any problems due to the weight and dimensions.

Anyone had any experience?

My backpack's a 55L one too and after backpacking for a month in Europe last summer it weighed about 17 kilos, if I remember correctly. The weight limit on the flight was 20 kilos..
They usually only have dimension restrictions if you take the pack as hand luggage. I checked mine in without any problems. Just remember to fasten all straps together..

usually the cheaper airlines let you get away with more - i came back to australia last week flying korean air from switzerland, i was allowed 20 kgs but stuffed about 32 into my bags and carried about another 7kgs on board - they never would have let me do it on emirates
