I realise this has probably been posted a million times and for the monotony I apologise.

Now I'm just curious about this and neither I nor this website condone working without proper legal regulation documents under any circumstances.

I've met a few people, Canadians and others who have said that when you arrive in Canada it is very easy to find work (any type) 'under the table' as it were. A few have said to try local construction companies or bars where its a bit more common. I'm due to head to Ontario (just outside Toronto) for a little while to take in a bit more of this fantastic country and was wondering that should I run out of money (heaven forbid) or Im in the circumstance where I've been robbed or something and maybe I need to raise cash to fly home - would this be a viable option????

Any advice from the ones who have been there and done it or local Canadians would be most welcome.

Thanks for takin the time to read it guys.

It is possible to get work without a VISA but it isn't common, unless your very charming and won't get discouraged too quickly.

It is very possible that a construction company will give you a bit of work. Other options are seasonal positions such as golf courses, ski resorts, campgrounds or farms. If you have a good education you might be able to put an advertisement in a paper and do some private tutoring work.

There is an organization called "Work Ready" and you basically just show up in the morning and wait. If a farmer, construction company etc., needs help for the day they will stop and pick up some people to work for the day.

It don't much about them but I know ehere there is one located just outside of Toronto.

Apply at the resorts in the mountians of AB and BC. They'll help you with Visa or have the resources. They are hiring from Late Oct to April for the winter season
