Dear all, I have been offered a job teaching English in China, never done this sort of thing before and would appreciate any advise anyone has for me.
Thanks in advance.

TEFL in China
Teaching in China is a real adventure! Which city are you going to?
Which kind of school are you going to teach? Primary? Middle? Senior? or college?
I'm being offered placements too... and I'm not too sure on how safe it is... who is offering you the placement? can they possibly help me? because I'm definitivly ready to leave for january but I just want to make it a safe bet and not arrive ine China a bit desoriented...
I'm the current teacher working at the school that Paul was coming to.
He never got here - and we're a little worried about him.
He was going to travel from Bangkok to Kunming. But we lost contact with him, around the 5th of October, while he was still in Bangkok. He hasn't posted to this website, or emailed, or phoned us since.
One of my colleagues travelled to Kunming - just in case he turned up there. But we assume he never got to China.
Has anyone seen Paul Marvin?, or know what happened to him?

I am sorry to hear that you have lose touch with Paul.
You said he is in Bangkok in Oct 5. I hope everthing goes on well.
But you need not worry so muuch, in Kunming is not a big city, I am sure you can find him or he will contact you some day. maybe he only want to stay in Kunming for more days to enjoy the beautiful landscapes of Kunming.
Anyhow i wish you can get together soon.
I am in Guangxi now, not far from Kunming, so anything I can help, do not hesitate to contact me.
Good luck!
Paul emailed me on 6th dec for anyone that reads this and gets worried, he's teaching in china now.
