As a public reply to a PM from [boskant], here's my list of favourite sights in Buenos Aires.

  • Jardín Botanico
  • Barracas, Parque Patricios and San Cristobal (go in broad daylight only)
  • Parque Lezama
  • Congreso (take the tour)
  • Palermo (sadly getting more and more touristy nowadays, but still worth seeing)
  • San Telmo (same applies as for Palermo, but worse. Explore the cafés)
  • MALBA (they had a cool photo exhibition during winter, go see it if it's still around)
  • Santa Fe avenue
  • Cementerio de Chacarita

List could be longer, but the attractions of BsAs are mostly found when just wandering around aimlessly.

Good list Niels!

Besides the touristy spots - Puerto Madero, La Boca Caminito, Florida Mall, Recoleta and those type of places, I found other barrios in and nearby Buenos Aires worth a look when I was there.

Palermo Hollywood was nice, with nice bars and spots for the evening. Palermo, around Avenida Sante Fe where I was staying definitely had character. Belgrano and Nunez had some wonderful architecture, and for good food in old-style well-priced parillas, I found Montsterrat to be a good neighbourhood for this.

Traveling a little further northward by the train I found places like Tigre, San Isidro and Vicente Lopez all had character also.

But... You can´t leave Buenos Aires without walking Jean Jaure street around number 700 close to Abasto neigborhood.
And picture all the Filete´s Houses...
Shhhhhh is my secret place.....
