Hi girls and boys!

I am after some more advice.... i am undecided whether to plan my working holiday to oz (sydney area) alone or to go with a company as both have their pro's and con's. I would love to hear from anyone with some useful advice (im a bit of a newcomer to this!)- And from anyone who is thinking of going to oz at end of Feb/ beginning of March '07.

thanks! Vicki x

hey there, well i think it depends on who you are planning on going with, friends or people you meet up with? im going it alone begining of nov but have already made plans with lots of people from the forum to meet up so wont be short of company when i arrive. suppose a draw back of going with friens is that its not only your plans and ideas you need to consider, where as with people you meet up with suppose you can find people who are wanting to do the same things as you.

If you go alone and stay in youth hostels, you'll probably won't have many problems in meeting up with people. A number of hostels are more geared up to working holiday makers than others, and many could be listed as examples. One I used in Sydney was Glebe Point YHA in Glebe, they do weekly rates and have a jobs board too.

One thing you might consider is Travellers Contact Point - they're a very useful info point (jobs, accommodation, travel) in Sydney even if you don't pay for their mail holding/forwarding or Sydney starter pack.
