Hi Joel
Its also good to convert to the respective units!

Kenya - KSH
Uganda - USH

If you plan to use Dollars you might end up being conned!

Joel, I can't speak for Uganda, but Kenya has allot of cash machines in most major towns, Barclays Bank (big uk bank) have a big presence. Check that your bank won't charge too much for withdrawals (mine was free), and you can save the stress of carrying loads of cash about. Travellers Checks prove to be a pain in the a, with lots of banks refusing unless I was a customer!! and the rest charging high commision.

Hi Joel, its advisable to carry US$ or travellers cheques..most safari companies will quote in US $ and if u insist to pay in Ksh, they will use a very high rate in their favour. Have a little Ksh and Ugsh for your expenses, like buying water, curios etc. Otherwise there are so many ATM especially at Barklays Bank.

Several exchange beareux convert currencies(town center is better than those at airports...
