I am doing my flight research to Sydney from either Manchester or London airports. I think going to Oz is a great opportunity to stop off en route. I definitely fancy Vancouver or Los Angeles rather than China and that end. Has anybody done this/ doing this?

Any advice on airlines etc would be brilliant thank u! xx

Hi, it might be worth looking into doing a round the world trip. I compared a direct flight to melbourne and back and it was approx £800 whereas i can do a rtw trip and stop in singapore, oz, fiji, hawai, LA and New york for £1200. Im only planning on spending a few days in singapore simply to break up my flight.
Hope this helps

On our way back from NZ we are stopping off in LA for a few hours which could of been extended if l had not a dislike of LA cos of getting pulled by immigration there last year!! So much so we are thinking of chaning our flight to come back via Hong Kong! I love Asia!

But l agree a RTW ticket would give you up to 6 (l think) stops and you could tailor them to your own individual desires - speak to an agent such as Trailfinders or STA and they can advise on routes but also speak to the carriers directly also to see the deals they are offering.

I can recommend Singapore and Bangkok as stop overs but your not interested!!
